Forest County Sheriff’s Department is now accepting applications for full-time and part-time Correctional Officer positions and to establish an eligibility list for future positions.
Individuals will be required to work day or night shifts, weekends, and holidays as shift rotations dictate. Applicants will be responsible for the supervision, safety and care of inmates as well as maintaining security and safety of all aspects of the Forest County Jail. No experience necessary, we offer on the job training.
Salary & Benefits: Full Time hourly wage rate is $18.36 per hour, $18.60 per hour and 40 hours of vacation time after one year of service. Pay wage and vacation time continues to increase with longevity. Benefits include: Wisconsin Retirement Fund, Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Sick Leave, Vacation Time,9 Paid Holidays, Uniform Allowance, Deferred Compensation and Education Incentive Pay, if applicable. Part time hourly rate is $18.00.
Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age; US Citizen; high school graduate or equivalent; valid Wisconsin driver’s license; good verbal and written communications skills; basic computer knowledge; able to handle stressful situations and must be self-motivated and able to work well with others as well as to work independently of others.

NOTE: Successful applicants will be required to submit to a written examination, oral interviews, extensive background investigation, a physical fitness test and a medical and drug examination.
